ELIZABETH L. KOLODZIEJ '83 Basketball, Softball
The first female all-America in the College's history, LIZ KOLODZIEJ was a two-sport standout for Coach Rita Castagna. She was the first 1,000-point scorer in basketball and as a third baseman on the 1983 softball team she batted .494 and was named second-team all-America by the nation's coaches. Kolodziej scored 1,151 points, leaving as the highest scoring guard in Greyhounds history and maintained a .479 field goal percentage (second highest as her career ended). She was also among the team's career leaders in rebounds (401), assists (266) and held the single-game mark of 37 points against the University of Bridgeport (1981-82) for many years. As a softball standout, she led the team as a freshman (.455) in 1980 and again as a senior (.494) in batting. She led the Greyhounds to their first two post season M.A.I.A.W. state tournaments in 1982 and 1983 and their first 20-win seasons (21-5) in 1983. She finished with a lifetime .372 average and 63 RBI in 63 games. Originally a three-sport standout at Fall Mountain High in North Walpole, NH, she is now a C.P.A. in Swanzey, NH. |
