Softball
Kristen Ladebauche '00, one of the greatest softball players in Hounds history, led the team to two Northeast-10 playoff titles, an ECAC tournament title and two N.C.A.A. Division II regional berths. The team posted a superb 129-55-3 overall mark including 57-17 in conference action for Coaches Dan Santerre and Ralph DeLucia.
She was the M.V.P. of the conference playoffs in 1998 pitching a one-hitter vs. Quinnipiac, a three-hitter vs. American International and earning a save vs. A.I.C. in the clincher. She also had two-game winning RBI hits in the three-game sweep.
Ladebauche was named an academic all-region/all-America as a senior captain and earned an N.C.A.A. post-graduate scholarship to complete her career. She was a four-time Northeast-10 all-star and four-time ECAC honoree. She was the conference Freshman-of-the-Year in 1997.
She could have been a Hall of Famer for either part of her game. She owned the team-pitching record book with an incredible 75-27 career record with three 20 win seasons and 691 strikeouts. And, she also made her mark as an offensive player ending with a career .426 mark with team records in homers (27) and RBI (180) with 224 hits.
Offensively she batted over .400 four times and finished in the top 10 in several categories. On the mound she also ranks first in innings, strikeouts, wins, saves and ERA.
She pitched three no-hitters in her career including the only perfect game in Hounds' history at home vs. N.H. College.
She shared the Desautels Award (with Katie Kerr) as the premier senior student-athlete (2000) and the Andrew Laska Award as the athlete of the year (1998). She was the softball team MVP twice.
She carried a 3.3 GPA and graduated with a bachelor's in politics. She later earned her juris doctor from N.E. School of Law and is currently a managing partner with New England Titles & Escrow Services in Tewksbury, MA.
