KATIE KERR '00

Basketball, Softball

Katie Kerr '00, a three-time team MVP and two-time captain, left the College as its career scoring leader while leading her team to its first 20-win season and berth in the N.C.A.A. regional for Coach Kerry Phayre.

She finished her experience as the starting shortstop for Coach Ralph Delucia on the softball team. Her .327 average was a major factor as the team advanced to the N.C.A.A. playoffs. She is the first female student-athlete in Hound history to participate in two sports in N.C.A.A. postseason.

She ended her career as the most prolific three-point shooter (227) and finished fifth in assists (429), third in steals (261), fourth in free throw accuracy (.726) and 13th in rebounding (507).

Kerr averaged 10.2 points as a freshman and 17.4 as the most improved sophomore in the conference in 1997-98 and earned Northeast-10, ECAC all-region honors. She averaged 15.0 ppg and 13.2 ppg over her last two years.

Her top individual game performances included 33 points at Saint Anselm (2/24/98) and 32 points at New Haven (1/4/98). Her 60 points vs. Saint Anselm and Merrimack in back-to-back games in 1998 is the second-best two-game effort in Hounds' history.

The Hounds finished 20-9 in her senior year setting the team record for most wins (20). Kerr earned Northeast-10, ECAC North all-region and Basketball Bulletin honorable mention all-America honors. She won the Berthiaume Award for ‘going above and beyond' in 1998 and shared the Desautels Award (with Kristen Ladebauche) as the premier senior female student-athlete in 2000.

The softball team ended the season at 38-12-1, won the Northeast-10 playoff title and then advanced to the regionals.

She graduated with a bachelor's in psychology and is married to Corey Clive, a former Hound football standout. They reside in Port St. Lucie, FL with daughter Kali and another due shortly.
