Football
The premier running back in Hounds' history FRAN DE FALCO was the first varsity player to have been accorded all-America honors. He was named a second-teamer on the N.C.A.A. Division II All-American team (as selected by the coaches and sports information directors) and was an honorable mention selection on both the USA Today and Hansen's Football Gazette teams. He is a two-time Most Valuable Player of the football team (1993, 94) and is a two-time Laska Award winner as the Hounds' Athlete-of-the-Year (1993-94, 94-95).
He was named the Worcester Area Football Association Player-of-the-Year in both 1993 and 1994. In the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference, he was the runner-up for Player-of-the-Year honors in 1994 . . . he won the honor in 1993 . . . and was named first-team as a kickoff returner, second-team as a running back and punt returner. He was first-team in all three categories in the Worcester Area Football Association, an N.C.A.A. Division II Second-Team all-District performer (as all-purpose back) and first-team all-New England Football Writers Association all-star (return specialist).
DeFalco is still the career record holder in points (204), touchdowns (33), rushing touch-downs (28), rushing average (5.8), all-purpose yards (4,487), total offense (2,452), punt returns (58), punt return yards (690), kickoffs (31), kickoff return yards (994).
In 1994, DeFalco led the Hounds to their best-ever 7-3 mark and a second straight second place finish in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference. He rushed for 806 yards (5.72 average) with 12 touchdowns (74 points), caught 19 passes (345 yards) for a league-leading 19.6 yards-per-catch average, led the E.C.F.C. in punt returns (14.5 avg.) and kickoff returns (25.6 avg.), total offense (80.6 avg) and all-purpose offense (158.2 avg.). He finished second in punting (33.8 avg.).
He received his Bachelors of Arts in Biology from the College in 1995 and was graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL in 1998 . . . and a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1999. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association. He is presently a Doctor of Chiropractic with Merolla Chiropractic in Attleboro, MA
