RICHARD J. CERASUOLO

Richard (Dick) Cerasuolo is one of the premier sports journalists of the past 40 years on the New England sports scene. He writes with professionalism and a passion which make his stories have a lasting effect on his reading audience. He covered primarily the New England Patriots and the Central Massachusetts college beat during his long association with the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and was a familiar face at Greyhound sporting events for many years.
A 1965 Northeastern University graduate, he began his career as a co-op writer with the Boston Globe, while still a student, before moving to the Malden, MA Evening News as the sports editor in 1965. He came to the Worcester media market the following year.
He has earned many awards for his coverage from the New England Associated Press Association and several acheivement awards from the National Football Foundation. He was an instrumental figure in Greyhounds basketball coverage for nearly 30 years. He was awarded an honorary letter A in 1971.
He is currently a member of the New England Patriots Hall of Fame and Worcester High School Sports Hall of Fame selection committees. He also serves as an advisor for the Andrew Laska Holiday Tournament for the Greyhounds and resides in nearby Northboro, MA.
Dick and his late wife Mary have two sons, John '92, Michael and a daughter Kathleen.
