ROBERT J. BOULE '69
Basketball
A former Worcester North High product BOB BOULE '69 overcame serious knee problems to lead the Greyhounds into four N.C.A.A. regional tournaments and scored over 1,000 points in a star-studded career. The Greyhounds won the regional tournament in his freshman season before bowing to Central Connecticut in a bidistrict playoff.
He later served as an assistant coach for Joe O'Brien '57 for 15 years (1971-85) after coaching Assumption Preparatory to the New England title in 1969-70. The 15-year tenure is still the longest in the College's department history for an assistant coach.
He averaged 12.9 points in his career reaching double-figures in all four years (12.8, 14.2, 10.5 and 12.8) for 1,000 career points---reached in the regional third-place game, his final game with the Greyhounds!
He was named team Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and captained the team in 1968-69. He resides in nearby Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and has worked in high school education for most of his adult life---first as a principal and quadrant chief in Worcester and now as a superintendant in Smithfield, RI.
