Interesting Stuff About Greyhounds
Assumption College has used the GREYHOUND as its athletics mascot since 1933 when a then unidentified priest remarked that the basketball team ran so fast it resembled a bunch of Greyhounds.
From 1912 through 1933 the College's athletic teams were known only by their colors . . . the Blue and White. The original Greyhound was named Pierre and his owner was Batiste the French-Canadian lumberjack.
As far as we know only FIVE senior colleges in the nation utilize the mascot . . . Assumption College, Eastern New Mexico University, University of Indianapolis, Loyola University of Maryland and Moravian College. The logo has resembled the logo of a well-known bus company.

GREYHOUNDS are the ONLY canine mentioned in the Bible by James. (King James version, Proverbs 30:29-31)
GREYHOUNDS are the oldest, purebred dog, dating back to the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. Paintings inside the tombs of the great Pyramids depicted GREYHOUNDS.
