CAITLYN CLARK EARNS ALL-NEW ENGLAND IN THE MILE
Assumption College senior CAITLYN CLARK (Worcester, MA/St. Peter Marian) ran a personal best 5:01.24 mile in the New England Invitational Friday at the Boston University Reggie Lewis Center. She won the unseeded heat by three seconds over her nearest competitor and her time was the EIGHTH best among the runners from three divisions earning her all-New England honors. She won the mile in the Northeast-10 Conference championships February 18 running a 5:11.89 to earn first-team all-conference honors. She previously had run 5:07.56 at the Boston University Invitational (February 11) and 5:08.99 at the Smith College Invitational (February 4). She finished second in the Northeast-10 cross country championships added a third-place finish in the N.C.A.A. regional. and 58th in the national.

HOUNDS ANNOUNCER HOOKS ON WITH SEA DOGS: Hounds football and basketball play-by-play announcer CHRIS FAMA will join the broadcast team for the Portland Sea Dogs of the Eastern League for 2006 . . . he will serve as the pre- and post-game host and will provide play-by-play for selected games. He has also spent the last four years as the voice of Providence women's basketball team and did games for the Pittsfield Mets of the New York-Penn League.

THREE MORE SELECTED CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC: three more Assumption College student-athletes have been selected to the Northeast-10 Conference all-academic teams for their respective sports. Assumption College now has had EIGHT student-athletes selected for the 2005-06 academic year.

BRIAN GORDON MAKES ARENAFOOTBALL2 TEAM: all-America defensive tackle BRIAN GORDON '05 (Quaker Hill, CT/Waterford) has earned a spot on the roster of the Manchester Wolves of arenafootball2 after impressing the coaching staff during an open tryout this past weekend. After a stellar career as a defensive lineman with the Hounds, the 6-foot-2, 255-pounder had his best season as a senior in 2004 in which he finished third in the Northeast-10 with 12 sacks and second with a team-record 33 tackles-for-loss. He received numerous individual accolades for his performance, including being named to the Football Gazette all region first-team and all-America second-team. He also finished his career with 256 total tackles (13th on all-time list) and a school-record 27 sacks. Training camp begins in March and season opens in early April.

KEEPING UP WITH FORMER GREYHOUNDS: congratulations to former Hound football player FRANK GUINTA '93 who was recently sworn in as the mayor of Manchester, NH . . . former football standout ANDY QUINN '98 is the new football coach at Cohoes, NY High School . . . former rower MATT SISK '01 has been appointed by the President George W.
