Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams Announced;
Greyhound swimmers 14th in NEISDA championship;
Northeast-10 hoop, hockey playoffs start this weekend

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Three Assumption College student-athletes have been selected to the Northeast-10 Conference all-academic teams for their respective sports.

Sophomore nose tackle MIKE FOLEY (Holden, MA/Saint John's) was named to the football squad, while senior forward SANDY GARNEY (Charlton, MA/Shepherd Hill) and junior forward SARAH RANIERI (Bellingham, MA/Bellingham) earned honors for field hockey.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.30 cumulative GPA and completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The teams were chosen by a vote of the league's Sports Information Directors.

Foley, who has declared a History major with an education minor, started all 10 games for the Greyhounds and was the fifth-leading tackler on the squad with 20-19--39 tackles with 7.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 quarterback sacks, five pass pressures and one fumble recovery. Garney is scheduled to be graduated in May with a bachelors in mathematics with a minor in education and scored three goals with an assist this past season while serving as a team captain. Ranieri, has declared as an English major with a minor in education, scored two goals with two assists this past season.

JILL CAPADANNO
(Fr., Dracut, MA/Dracut): scored 59.50 points at the
NEISDA championship: finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle final (2:02.69), finished seventh in the 200-yard butterfly final with a time of 2:19.36; finished 13th in the 500-yard freestyle (5:35.52).
Also competed in various relays helping her team to a ninth place finish in the 800-yard freestyle, a 10th place finish in the 400-yard freestyle, a 14th place finish in the 200-yard medley, and a 15th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle.
