ROB YOUNKER Heads to N.C.A.A. Regional
GOLF;
Northeast-10 TRACK scheduled for Saturday!
WORCESTER, Mass. --- Assumption College golf captain ROB YOUNKER (Waltham,
MA/Waltham) has earned an individual berth in the N.C.A.A. Division II Super
Regional Golf Tournament.
The event scheduled for
May 5-7 is hosted by Wilmington, DE College at the Saint Anne's Golf Course
in Wilmington. The top teams and individuals will move on to the national event
at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, TX May 15-17.
The Greyhounds have qualified twice as a team in 2002 and 2007 for the regional
event and have had two previous individuals Patrick Dunn in 1991 and Frank Vana
'86 in 1986.
Vana, the reigning Massachusetts
Amateur Golfer-of-the-Year shot an 80-83 82-78--323 at Innisbrook Resort in
Tampa, while Dunn carded a 79-82-79-77---317.
Younker has compiled a 77.0
medal average for 21 events this season to lead the team. His low round was
a 71 in the second-round of the ECAC Division II Championship (September 24,
2007) and a pair of 73s in the Dowling College Invitational second-round (September
17) and NEIGA Fall Championship first round (October 22).

(Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley) scored eight points with five rebounds and a blocked
shot as his East squad beat the West, 103-97, in the NABC Division II East-West
All-Star Game Friday (March 27) at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield,
MA.
NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION
HAMPSHIRE HONOR SOCIETY: the members of the 2008 NFF Hampshire Honor Society,
which is comprised of college football players from all divisions who each maintained
a 3.2 grade point average or better. A total of 433 players from 225 schools
qualified for membership in the society's second year, an increase of more than
25 percent from the inaugural class in 2007.

The NFF Hampshire Honor
Society capitalizes on the NFF's current National Scholar-Athlete program, greatly
expanding the number of scholar-athletes the NFF can recognize each year and
further strengthening its leadership role in encouraging academic performance
by the student-athletes who play football at the more than 700 college and universities
with football programs.
Qualifications for membership
in the inaugural NFF National Honor Society include being a starter or a significant
substitute in one's last year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA Football
Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III,
or an NAIA college or university; achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average
throughout entire course of undergraduate study and meeting all NCAA-mandated
progress towards degree requirements.
